Job description:
We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented Scan-to-BIM Modeler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for converting point cloud data from laser scanning or photogrammetry into accurate and detailed Building Information Models. As a Scan-to-BIM Modeler, you will be responsible for documenting as-built conditions, verifying compliance with industry standards, and working with stakeholders to provide high-quality models for a wide range of projects.

Key responsibilities:

Import, analyze, and clean point cloud data to remove noise and errors.
Segment and categorize data into meaningful groups for modeling purposes.

Create accurate and detailed 3D BIM models of the existing conditions including architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
Produce quality models in software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and other BIM tools.

Produce accurate 2D drawings from the BIM model including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
Deliver detailed as-built documentation that accurately depicts the structure’s current status.

Perform extensive quality checks to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and compliance with BIM standards.
Validate BIM models with point cloud data to ensure consistency.

Identify and resolve conflicts between different building systems (e.g., MEP, structural, and architectural components). Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure the deliverables are seamlessly integrated.

In collaboration with surveyors, architects, engineers, and project managers, determine project requirements and input, maintaining open communication with clients regarding modeling requirements and concerns.

Manage massive resources like point clouds and BIM models, ensuring organizational, management, and distribution in a secure manner while keeping version control and access to project files.

Leverage and stay updated with tools such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Recap, Faro Scene, and Leica Cyclone. Research on latest scanning technology and BIM approach to improve workflow.

Addressing issues like insufficient or low resolution point cloud data and providing remedies for proper modeling. Identify what is missing and working with stakeholders to clarify.

Qualifications:

proficiency in BIM modeling tools such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. Experience working with point cloud data and laser scanning technology (such as Faro and Leica). A thorough understanding of BIM standards and industry practices. Attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving abilities. The ability to manage huge datasets while maintaining version control. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred experience:

includes Scan-to-BIM workflows for architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
Familiarity with ISO 19650 or other BIM standards.
Previous experience with construction, architectural, or engineering projects.
